11700 Mitscher, M. A., Vice Admiral, U.S. Navy Letter to George E. Outland self 1945 signed by the author paper 1 Good with some creasing. There are two date stamps and notations in pencil. 8 x 10.5 inches on a Navy Department Office Of The Chief Of Naval Operations letterhead, this letter from Admiral Mitscher, then Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Air), to Mr. Outland references the use of The Marine Corps Air Station at Santa Barbara, California after the war. Mitscher was a father of U.S. Naval Aviation. In WW2 he was an Admiral and commanded Task Force 38 in the battle of Philippine Sea. Autograph, M. A. Mitscher, Marc A.
